Another Racist attack at the University Of Freestate

I was listening to the radio on the weekend, and I heard them mention something about the University Of Free state racial attack, then I thought to myself this is not the first time it occurred at the University of Free state, there is a need for Government and society to step in  and try to educate different races about the importance equality and rights.

In an incident that mirrors a 2010 attack, two white students on Monday allegedly drove over a black student as he was walking on a pavement and later beat him, the Times reported on Thursday.
UFS is the same university where four students made a racist video that captured the nation’s attention.
The attackers allegedly tried driving over three female black students before driving over Dumane Gwebu who was admitted to hospital after the incident.
UFS rector Jonathan Jansen had doubts about whether the incident was indeed racist but the women claim that the assailants called them “kaffirs” and then drove off.
Other students have also complained of similar incidents in the last few weeks.

During his lifetime Mandela inspired us with his numerous words of wisdom

Let Us look at some of the words of wisdom that reminds us of Tata
  1. I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.
  2. I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
  3. Difficulties break some men but make others. No axe is sharp enough to cut the soul of a sinner who keeps on trying, one armed with the hope that he will rise even in the end.
  4. It always seems impossible until it’s done.
  5. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace.
  6. Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice all for the freedom of their people.
  7. A fundamental concern for others in our individual and community lives would go a long way in making the world the better place we so passionately dreamt of.
  8. Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do.
  9. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
  10. For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
  11. Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.
  12. There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
  13. Money won’t create success, the freedom to make it will.
  14. We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.
  15. Man’s goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished
  16. Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.
  17. I like friends who have independent minds because they tend to make you see problems from all angles.
  18. A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.
  19. When people are determined they can overcome anything.

Worst Break Up

I must say it’s been a while since I posted in this blog, mainly because a lot occurred during October and December phase, I was involved in a messy break-up with my partner of 3years, I became emotionally and mentally drained, nevertheless I regained my strength again, dust of my knees and started moving on, with the support of friends and family. A Part of me stills remember the pain and the hurt that I suffered during my breakup with the ONLY person I planned my whole future with. Not only that but I also believed that he was the only person in this world that understood me completely, I was afraid of the outside world as I was under his wings for almost 4 years, ashamed of how disappointing I was to my friends about the man I always bragged about to and I could hear the voice of my Mom saying “I told you so, that man wasn’t right for you”. But in between that loneliness and feeling sorry for myself, I began to learn to love the unique me and realize that I alone will never disappoint myself and for the first time in my life I could do anything I want to, without asking for permission, I cut my hair, got a piercing and a tattoo. I then realized that there is more to life that shading a tear to the man who never loved me in the first place. Now I am living a peaceful free life, I hear from him once in a while saying he wants to fix stuff, but there is nothing more to fix sometimes you must just throw to the bin than insisting to fix something that will give u trouble later again. I never knew how strong till this worst break-up happened. To all my friends and families who prayed for me, I thank you!.
